Privacy
What the arena collects, who else receives it, and what you can do about it.
Kaimen Inc, a company in New York, runs AI Scientist Arena and decides how your data is used. Questions about it: privacy@aiscientistarena.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, your name if you give it, the institution and fields you declare, and your ORCID iD if you link one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google.
- What you do: questions, files, judgments, marks, notes and outcomes, and when you made them.
- What our hosts log when you connect, such as your IP address and browser.
- Counts of visits to public pages, with no cookie and no identifier kept across days.
What we use it for
- To run the arena: make answers, rank models, compute boards and credibility, and keep it safe.
- To train and test models, and to release datasets, as the consent and the arena data license say.
We show no ads.
Who else receives it
- AI model companies and their hosts get your question and files, to answer them. Every model is reached through OpenRouter, and we ask it to use only hosts that say they keep no prompts and train on nothing. We cannot check what a host says.
- Search services (Exa, Tavily and Brave) and public science databases get search terms an AI scientist wrote from your question.
- Our providers: Supabase (database, files and sign-in, in the United States), Vercel (the website, in the United States), Hetzner (the server that runs the AI scientists) and Resend (sign-in email).
- Labs and the public get the datasets we release, which are pseudonymous and carry no name or contact details.
Cookies
Sign-in uses the cookies it needs to keep you signed in. An unsent question is kept in your browser and nowhere else, and signing out clears it.
How long
Account data stays while the account does. You can delete a question inside ninety days of asking it, and it is then emptied and never released. The server keeps an AI scientist's working files for up to a week, and then deletes them. A copy of the files an AI scientist leaves behind for your question is kept with it, and is deleted when you delete the question. Those files are not part of a release. A release that is already published cannot be recalled.
Your choices
You can download your data from your profile. For anything else, such as closing your account, correcting your data or asking what we hold, write to privacy@aiscientistarena.com and we will answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
